RapidScan, snelle en autonome AI-generatie van 3D-omgevingen

RapidScan is a tool for rapidly creating realistic 3D simulations of real locations, generated using photographs or videos of the location. The resulting scenes can be quickly viewed and used in a VR headset after a location has been captured. RapidScan builds upon earlier work by Leiden University with 3D Gaussian Splatting. In that work, they demonstrated that complex urban areas could be reproduced with remarkable detail. By focusing on speed and ease of use, the tool offers a practical way to explore or practise situations, providing opportunities for police, municipalities and others who have an interest in simulations of physical environments
