Police officers are constantly confronted with unexpected situations in which they must act quickly, provide assistance and gather information. Realistic training is essential for this, but expensive, time-consuming and poorly scalable. With an AI avatar – a digital, human-like figure controlled by artificial intelligence – officers can practise realistic scenarios via VR headsets. The avatar flexibly switches between roles such as suspect, witness, victim or colleague and responds naturally to the officer. This allows officers to train their communication, assessment and decision-making in a safe, lifelike environment. This makes practising unpredictable situations more effective, efficient and easily scalable.
