Creative Industries Immersive Impact Coalition
CIIIC (Creative Industries Immersive Impact Coalition) is a €200 million National Growth Fund programme. We strengthen and accelerate the Dutch immersive experiences (IX) sector, so we don’t just move with this new digital wave, but actively help shape it.
Why CIIIC?
Immersive experiences (IX) are experiences in which the digital and physical worlds merge. Instead of just watching, you step into an experience.
IX is changing how we learn, work, care and tell stories. It helps people experience new perspectives and get closer to each other’s worlds.
But the sector is still in an early stage. Many initiatives are small and fragmented, and it is difficult to scale them into broad application and real impact. There is also a growing need for more talent, stronger collaboration and sustainable business models.
The challenge is therefore not only about developing good ideas, but especially about creating the right conditions for IX to grow and scale.
That is why CIIIC exists: to help the IX sector grow from a set of separate initiatives into a strong, connected industry.
What does CIIIC do?
With €200 million, we invest not only in technology, but especially in people, collaboration and infrastructure.
We focus on scaling and acceleration: developing IX solutions faster and applying them more broadly, in the Netherlands and internationally.
We do this through four core pillars:
- Research – developing new knowledge, technologies and applications
- Talent & skills – educating and strengthening professionals in the sector
- Facilities – providing labs, infrastructure and tools for development and testing
- Innovation – innovation and demonstration projects that move towards market adoption
These pillars are not separate. They reinforce each other and together form one coherent whole.
That is why there is also a fifth element: synergy and coherence. This ensures that knowledge, projects and networks are connected and can strengthen each other.
In this way, we do not create a collection of separate initiatives, but a connected ecosystem in which the IX sector can grow, accelerate and scale.
Who does CIIIC work with?
CIIIC is an initiative of the Top Team Creative Industry, TKI CLICKNL, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science (OCW), and the Ministry of Economic Affairs (EZK).
The programme is implemented by CLICKNL foundation, in collaboration with organisations including NWO, Regieorgaan SIA, Stimuleringsfonds Creative Industries, RVO and TNO.
In this way, we connect policy, knowledge and practice in one national programme.
